«RUSSIAN SOFT POWER POLICY IN THE CAUCASUS: EDUCATION AND RELIGION»

Garmyshev D.A.

Annotation

The article examines the influence of religion on such a state entity as the North Caucasian Imamate under the leadership of Imam Shamil, as well as the attempts of the Russian administration to influence the highlanders through cooperation with the Muslim clergy. Religious Muslim education in the 19th century became widespread on the territory of Dagestan and in many respects supported the ideology necessary for the existence of state institutions. It was during this period that Islamic scholars appeared in large numbers in Dagestan and they could act both as proponents of the idea of establishing peace with Russia and as ideologists of the continuation of hostilities. The establishment of contacts with the clergy and the spread of secular education among the highlanders on the part of the Russian administration are considered by the author as one of the manifestations of "soft power" that contributed to the exercising of Russian authority over the region.

Grom O.A., Dmitrieva N.V.

Annotation

The article presents the results of a study of the actors and practices of the Russian Empire in the Caucasian Region during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the victory in the Patriotic War of 1812. Periodicals of various political orientations published in the Region are used as a basic historical source. The periodicals reacted most sensitively and reflected on their pages all the actions of the authorities to implement the anniversary celebrations, the key task of which was to unite the multi-ethnic and poly-confessional population of the country. The celebration of the centenary of the Patriotic War of 1812 was one of the most ambitious events of the imperial authorities, inferior at the beginning of the 20th century only to celebrations in honor of the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov. The Caucasus region, especially its southern part, is a unique object of research in this context. In 1812, no military operations took place on this territory; natives of this region practically did not participate in the war. «ISLAM IN THE NORTH CAUCASUS: COMPREHENSION IN THE CONTEXT OF RUSSIAN ORIENTAL STUDIES AND ITS FOCUS IN THE EARLY 20th CENTURY»

Matveyev V.A.

Annotation

The article presents the result of the study of historical experience of searching for opportunities to ensure the integration of subjects of the Russian Empire professing Islam. For this, as is known, not only the necessary information about confessional specifics, but also about traditions was collected. First of all, the state of knowledge in different periods of accumulation in Russian oriental studies and Caucasian studies during the formation of state unity of other ethnic communities of the North Caucasus with Russia is subjected to analysis. Based on the conclusions of administration officials and scientists who studied the customary law of the mountaineers in the 19th century, the author for the first time introduces the concept of Russian reception noting its difference from the European one. The rapprochement was facilitated, in author’s opinion, by a combination of approaches with a focus on traditionalism and the Muslim component. The accumulated knowledge about Islam was of no small importance for achieving civilizational compatibility. Since Islam has a single canonical basis, its correlation with any of the ethnic communities is inadmissible. Like Buddhism and Christianity, this world religion does not imply this kind of segmentation. "Russian Islam" as an identifying designation reflects the emerging reality of the emergence of co-citizenship. The study of its specificity in the North Caucasus continued in the difficult conditions of the revolutionary crisis and the civil war in Russia in 1917–1920.

Keywords

Russian oriental and Caucasian studies, reception of customary law, Islamic culture, Russian Islam, Tribal Commission, Academy of Sciences, civilizational convergence.

«THE PHILOSOPHY OF COLLECTIVE CREATIVITY: A GAME AS A MECHANISM OF NORMATIVE CREATIVITY»

Durova E.A., Pokhilko A.D.

Annotation

In the socio-philosophical aspect, theoretical issues of research of collective creativity are considered; approaches to understanding one of the products and forms of collective creativity that is a game are identified. The authors use an interdisciplinary approach to consider a game as a rule-making mechanism. In the approach proposed by the authors, a game becomes a social mechanism for the formation of first moral, then customary law, and finally, of modern legal norms. At the same time, the authors place an emphasis on the rules of games, which normalize the activities of players deviating from what has become regular and seems normal. The subject of this historical endless game is the collective social subject. This stems from the fact that a game involves many players. In contrast to art, where individuality creates, in normative creativity the individual acts only as a representative of the collective subject. Russia as a global collective player acts as a subject of modern geopolitics and information policy, a component of which has become the gameization of some areas of state activity.

Keywords

collective creativity, game, morality, law, subject of normative creativity.
